But if there is no container with it and you do not have enough time to buy the container, you can use a plate to mix.
  4. Stir the resin and hardener for at least 3 minutes until you have a homogenous mixture.
  5. There are two main ways to apply epoxy adhesive on the surface:

Spot installation

If you use an epoxy adhesive to install large stones such as slabs, granite, or marble, it is better to put large spots of adhesive in the corners and center of the stone. Then place it on the desired surface.

Layered installation

If you use epoxy adhesive for tiles, ceramics, metal, wood, and concrete, it is better to put a layer of adhesive on the surface and spread it with a thickness of 0.5 to 0.8 mm. Of course, this thickness varies in different levels and according to the type of epoxy.

The combined ratio of this adhesive is 3 to 1 (3 parts of resin and 1 part of hardener) and the application time at 25°C is 25 minutes.

Repair cracks and seal surfaces with epoxy adhesive

Megatite PM

This two-part adhesive is based on epoxy resin and amine hardeners, which is designed for manual layering on metal and fiberglass pipes and fittings. It can be used in various industries such as petrochemicals, oil, gas, seawater cooling systems, etc. High flexibility and strength after curing, good viscosity, high interlayer shear strength and quick wetting of fibers are the prominent features of this product. The mix ratio of this epoxy is 100 grams of resin and 15 grams of hardener. The time required to fully cure Megatite RT at 25°C is 4 days and at 80°C for 2 hours

Megatite PH

This product is suitable for a wide range of metals that have a temperature resistance of up to 150°C. This adhesive can be used to transport crude oil lines, fire water lines, drinking water, industrial waste and offshore platforms. The mix ratio of this epoxy is 5 to 1 (5 parts of resin and one part of hardener) and the curing time to reach a shear strength of at least 1 MPa at 25°C is 3 hours, and to achieve a shear strength of at least 10 MPa at 100 ° C is 1,5 hours.

Megatite RT

This epoxy is used for metal-to-metal bonding, repair and reconstruction of metal and fiberglass surfaces. Outstanding features of this product include thixotropic properties, temperature resistance up to 100°C and also resistance to most chemicals. The mix ratio of this epoxy is 4 to 1 (4 parts of resin, 1 part of hardener) and the curing time at 25°C to achieve a shear strength of at least 1 MPa is 3 hours and a shear strength of at least 10 MPa is 4 days.

Note:

The difference between Megatite PH, PM and RT  with Megatite S and C is that these adhesives are mostly used in industrial applications such as petrochemicals, oil, gas, power, water and wastewater, etc.

Megatite HC

Megatite brand has designed and formulated this product with the aim of planting bolts and bars in concrete. Using it will increase the strength of concrete surfaces. The cure time is 20 minutes at 25 degrees.

Megatite SF

This adhesive has strong adhesion and can be used for emergency repairs of metal and concrete pipes and tanks. This adhesive permanently adheres the surfaces together. The mix ratio is 1:1. It takes 10 minutes to harden at 25 degrees, and reaches its optimal strength within an hour. This epoxy can be used for both construction and industrial applications.

If your work involves wood, you will need a quality wood epoxy. Wood epoxies have a high viscosity and do not drip when used. Megatite brand has formulated adhesives for working with wood that have high strength and durability. These epoxies include Megatite C and Megatite SF. The time required for these products to cure is 10 to 45 minutes at 25°C.

Epoxy adhesive for fiberglass

Fiberglass products come in all shapes and sizes, from park benches to car parts and industrial pipes. Despite fiberglass products in most industries, it is not surprising that some of them need occasional repairs. Imagine for example a hole in a GPR tube! In these cases, Megatite PM adhesive is suitable and available as an epoxy adhesive for pipeline contractors. Infiltration into dry and wet substrates with marine epoxy

If you are looking for a suitable adhesive for use on offshore platforms, Megatite RT and Megatite PM can be the best option. These epoxies are two-part adhesives with room temperature curing. These products have resistance to corrosion and abrasion and for this reason are used in repair, reconstruction, permeant connection, and repairing leakage. These epoxies are extremely strong and versatile, which makes them a great tool for surfaces that are constantly submerged in water.

Marine epoxy is used to protect ship hulls from corrosion and destruction in the marine environment, to increase the abrasion resistance of ship decks, and to prevent ship moss, which causes corrosion and slows down ships. This marine epoxy resin can also be used in corrosive fluid transmission lines, oil transmission lines, fire water lines, etc. To use this adhesive, you have to mix all the hardeners with all the resin. If your epoxy has cured and hardened, you should use a relatively aggressive method. Using most solvents, thinners, and alcohols will not help soften the epoxy. To remove the cured epoxy, methods such as burning, sanding, and heating above 200 degrees should be used.

 

Removal of uncured epoxy

Uncured epoxies are soft; therefore, they are easier to clean than cured ones. You can use acetone or isopropyl alcohol to remove the caused stains. To do this, you have to dip a piece of cloth in them and clean the stained surface. This should continue until the adhesive comes off the surface.

Removal of epoxy from the skin

If the epoxy has been spilled on your skin, it is best to remove it as soon as possible. The best option is to use a natural substance such as vinegar. Dip a cotton ball in vinegar and rub it on the affected area. Of course, the use of soap and water will also be effective. But if this substance comes in contact with the eyes, rinse immediately with plenty of water for 20 minutes. In cases where epoxy has been eaten, do not attempt to vomit.
